Firefox Remove Title Bar

Some of these methods will work with older versions of Firefox as well.

If you want to make sure that you have the latest Firefox Quantum installed, head over to the menu bar. If it’s not visible, you can tap the ALT key on your keyboard or just right-click on any open space at the top and select menu bar from the drop-down menu.

Click on help then select about Firefox. If you have Quantum installed that will update Firefox Quantum. If you’re new to Firefox, you can download it from firefox.com. We’ll start out with an easy one.

How to customize Firefox

Remove or add items from Firefox toolbar

What you quickly remove items from the toolbar just right click on that item and select remove from the toolbar. You can even get rid of empty space in the toolbar by right-clicking on the empty space and selecting remove from toolbar again.

Select the three bar menu icon in the upper right, then select customize, this will open a new tab with more customization options. Most functions on this page involve left clicking with your mouse and dragging the elements.

You can remove items from the toolbar by dragging and dropping into the main area below. For example, the Firefox search bars, you don’t need these search bars as internet searches can also be done in the address bar.

Move your cursor up to search left click and drag it down below to the other elements to remove elements to customize Firefox.

Adding items to the toolbar works the same way but in reverse from the main area just left-click and drag those elements to where you want them on the Firefox toolbar.

There is also an overflow menu to the right or tools that you use but don’t want them to take up space on the toolbar, just left-click and drag the items to the overflow menu box.

Customize add-ons and themes

For many people the add-ons they used to use no longer work with Quantum that also includes certain themes, themes are a great way to change the appearance of Firefox at the bottom of the page.

Click on themes, Firefox Quantum includes three themes that are pre-installed default light and dark. They also have a few that are recommended. You can preview them by just moving your cursor over each one, they are called “a web browser renaissance”, “space fantasy” and “pastel gradient”. I like the space fantasy one as it is easier on the eyes.

On the customize Firefox page, you can add or remove the menu bar and bookmarks bar by selecting the toolbars button at the bottom of the page and just click each menu item to turn it on or off.

You can also control the size of the items in the toolbar by selecting density. Normal is the default size, compact makes the menu smaller and touch makes the menu items just slightly larger than normal.

Show title bar

Some people miss the title bar that used to appear at the top of the page. There’s an option here to turn the title bar in Firefox back on, click the Title bar in the left bottom corner and you’ll see the title bar at the top of the page.

When you are done customizing Firefox to your needs, select Done in the lower right corner. You will now see that your changes have taken effect.

Firefox Quantum has many new features. The most useful is the screenshot tool, at least for me. The screenshot tool is hidden on the address bar on the page actions menu.

The screenshot tool works great to capture and save any part of any web page.

Customize Title Bar Color Firefox For Mac Download

The ability to customize the title bar text color was available in previous Windows versions when the Classic theme was used. However, Windows 8 and Windows 10 do not include the Classic theme any more and all its options are removed. The feature to customize colors was designed for the Classic theme, so the user interface for this feature is missing in recent Windows versions.

While the user interface is missing, you can still change the color using a Registry tweak. Here is how.

Before proceeding, it is worth mentioning that this trick works best with the Aero Lite theme enabled. If you don't like the Aero Lite theme (which actually looks quite ugly in recent Windows 10 releases compared to Aero Lite from Windows 8.1), consider disabling the title bar color option as described below.

To change the title bar text color in Windows 10, do the following.

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Go to Personalization - Colors.
  3. On the right, untick the option 'Title bars' under 'Show accent color on the following surfaces'.
  4. Open the Registry Editor app.
  5. Go to the following Registry key.

  6. See the string values TitleText and InactiveTitleText. The TitleText value is responsible for the title bar text color of the active window (the current window which you are focused on). The InactiveTitleText value is responsible for the title bar text color of windows opened in the background.
  7. To find a suitable value, open Microsoft Paint and click on the Edit color button. In the color dialog, select the desired color using the provided controls. Now, note the values in Red:, Green:, and Blue: boxes.Use these digits to modify the value data of TitleText. Write them as follows:

    Red[space]Green[space]Blue

  8. Repeat the step above for the InactiveTitleText value if required.
  9. To make the changes done by the Registry tweak take effect, you need to sign out and sign in to your user account.

The result will be something like this:

Now you can enable the title bar color option in Settings.

Note: If you change the accent color, the customizations you made will be preserved. However, if you apply a theme, e.g. install a themepack or apply another built-in theme, Windows 10 will reset the title bar text color back to its default values. You will have to repeat the procedure.

Also, a lot of modern apps and all UWP apps like Photos, Settings, etc, ignore this color preference.

#1 Edit the color scheme of the user interface

You can change the look and feel of Vivaldi with endless design options. Using Themes, you can change the color scheme and turn Vivaldi into a browser that belongs to you and no one else.

In addition to editing the color scheme, you can make the browser even more personal by adding a Window Background Image to the tabs bar.

I’m a visual person so the clean and smooth UI is really important to me. I feel at home with the possibility to change Themes, Scheduled Themes, Window Background Image, Speed Dial, posted ornorm on the forum.

To change Themes, go to Settings > Themes. Select one of the predefined themes or create your own by clicking the ‘+’ button. To enable and edit Window Background Image go to Settings > Appearance > Window Background Image and check the box for Show Window Background Image.

#3 Tweak the roundness of corners

Here’s a little-known option in Vivaldi! Do you like your UI elements rounded or do you prefer sharper corners? Choose your preference and adjust accordingly.

Go to Settings > Themes > Edit > Theme Preferences and use the slider in Corner Rounding. You can choose to round the corners up to 14 pixels.

#4 Zoom pages and Vivaldi’s interface

#5 Customize your Start Page

The Start Page is the launchpad of your browser and it will appear anytime you open a new tab in Vivaldi. It gives you instant access to your favorite links, browsing History and Bookmarks manager. There are a number of ways to customize the look and behavior of the Start Page to get things feeling just right.

You can further tailor Vivaldi to your needs by tweaking the layout of its elements. In Settings, you can adjust the positioning of your tabs and address bars – pick between top, bottom, left and right for the tabs, and top and bottom for the address bar.

#7 Switch tabs by mouse wheel scroll

I’m using Vivaldi since 1.0, but follow way longer. The feature I can’t live without? Tab switching by mouse wheel scroll. I got so used to it that when I am on someone else’s computer, I automatically try to switch tabs with the mouse wheel, no matter what browser they have, said Matěj Kubík on Facebook.

To switch tabs by mouse wheel scroll, go to Tabs > Tab Features > Tab Cycling > Switch Tabs by Scrolling.

#8 Assign nicknames to search engines

In Vivaldi, you can speed up your searching by assigning a nickname to your favorite search engines and quickly switch between them. If you use YouTube often, you can map it as a search engine, assign a nickname to it and search for videos without going to youtube.com first.

Customisable search engines! This feature not only improves my workflow but my workflow is more or less based on this single feature. I don’t use it only when I click a link or enter an url directly into Quick Commands or the address bar. I use it for translations, searches, shopping, forums, work-stuff, news, videos, wikis, and most importantly the seat-availability search of my local cinema, posted Zaibon on the forum.

Assign nicknames to search engines in Settings > Search. To search, just type the nickname of the search engine in the URL bar followed by a blank and the search term. On YouTube, this will take you straight to the search results page.

Do you sometimes find yourself wondering if Vivaldi can do something? Look no further than the Settings menu and you might just find the answer. Apart from the big features, Vivaldi thrives on a multitude of “small” options that can be just what you need.

Accidentally closing a tab can be pretty annoying, but in Vivaldi, you can disable the close tab button, so that this never happens. To do this, go to Settings > Tabs > Tab Display and untick Display Close Button.

Use this in combination with another great “small” option – Close Tab on Double Click. Go to Settings > Tabs > Tab Handling > Close Tab on Double Click.

#10 Turn on what you like, turn off what you don’t
